Ocean Beach Oktoberfest 2024
Elevating OB’s Oktoberfest with Void Acoustics
Ocean Beach’s annual Oktoberfest was an eclectic two-day festival filled with beers, tunes and beachside views. OB Oktoberfest prides itself as “San Diego’s Wildest Oktoberfest,” so this year, they doubled their festival grounds and introduced a brand new stage, the High Noon Electronica Stage.
This addition called for non-stop beats and top-notch sound, featuring performances from artists like Cut Snake, Tara Brooks, Kaipora and DJ Green T, along with many others. Over the course of the weekend, Elevate Sound and Staging was chosen to run audio for the new stage, showcasing a variety of high-quality pieces produced by Void Acoustics.
On the left and right side of the electronic stage, Elevate set up two Air Motion systems. Air Motion speakers are versatile enough to perform well in any setting that requires powerful sound reinforcement. The speaker’s high output and clarity allows it to produce strong sound quality in open spaces, making it the perfect choice for the outdoor festival.
On top of the Air Motions, Air Vantages, stylishly modern high-end loudspeakers, were also implemented. The Air Vantages provided consistent audio and a dynamic visual impact, creating a unique experience for both the artists and the attendees. Not only can the Air Vantage speakers be configured in various arrangements, allowing for flexibility in sound design and reinforcement, but they also are lightweight and portable, making them ideal for a gig like Oktoberfest.
To support the Air Motions and Air Vantages, Elevate also brought out two Bias Q5 Amplifiers and four Stasys XV2’s, both manufactured by Void Acoustics as well. The Bias Q5 Amplifier was used to provide high-quality amplification for the sound systems. It did so by boosting the audio signal to drive the speakers, ensuring that they would produce loud and clear sound.
The Q5 amplifiers are durable, energy-efficient and versatile with a variety of different audio systems. Like the Air Vantage speakers, the Q5 is also lightweight and compact, making it great for touring and mobile setups.
The Stasys XV2 is a modular rigging system designed for safely and properly mounting professionally designed speakers, allowing for flexible configurations in environments with live sound. Due to its adaptable design, quick and easy assembly, rugged material and optimized sound distribution, the Stasys XV2 is an essential tool for sound professionals looking to efficiently rig audio equipment while maintaining safety and sound quality.
OB Oktoberfest took place from 4 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Friday, October 11, and 12 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 12. The Elevate Sound and Staging team worked together to produce top-tier sound quality for both the artists and crowd members at OB Oktoberfest’s electronic music stage.
“I don’t normally freak out over the sound at shows, but I’m kind of fangirling a bit,” said Shannon, an Oktoberfest attendee. “I came out here on a whim and ended up having the best time just dancing to the music!”
Whether it’s a high-quality setup for a corporate event, a dynamic solution for a local function, or running the sound for a stage at a German beer festival, Elevate Sound and Staging is here to help.
Their extensive range of Void Acoustics equipment ensures exceptional audio performance for any occasion, providing clear sound and robust reliability.
